Wix Restaurants’ Online Ordering is a sophisticated platform designed to manage and handle food ordering for a restaurant website built on Wix. Developed in close collaboration with actual restaurant owners, the system offers a range of features tailored to meet their specific needs.

Handling Orders

Restaurant owners manage orders on a dedicated dashboard view, providing them with a quick overview of their current workload. Since order handling is a time-sensitive task, most restaurant owners keep the dashboard open in the kitchen. The orders come with a distinctive sound effect, allowing the restaurant crew to react promptly to incoming online orders.

Orders Life Cycle

Incoming orders appear as new orders in the dashboard. Depending on their preparation time, they can be “on time” or “overdue”. When accepted, a notification informs the customer of preparation. Once delivered, it’s marked as “fulfilled”. Orders can be rejected or undone.

Pickup

It’s possible to set the minimum order price, availability, and preparation time for a pickup. Additionally, customers can opt-in to leave their vehicle information for pickup at the curbside.

QR codes can be strategically placed around the restaurant to allow customers to browse the menu and conveniently place their orders online while dining in.
